1.How hair straighteners work:
The hair straightener mainly works by heating the panels. When the panels reach the set temperature, thehair is clamped between two heating panels. The high temperature is used to evaporate the moisture in the hair and denature the protein, thereby changing the shape of the hair and making it straight and smooth.
2.Types of Hair Straighteners:
Traditional hair straightener: This is the most common type of hair straightener, usually composed of two heating plates, relatively simple to operate, and relatively affordable. The general temperature can be adjusted between 130℃ - 200℃, which can meet the daily straightening needs of most people.
Negative ion hair straightener: A negative ion emitter is added to the heating plate, which can releasa a large amount of negative ions while heating and straightening the hair. Negative ions have the effect of neutralizing the positive charge in the hair, repairing the hair scales, making the hair smoother and more shiny, and reducing the damage to the hair caused by high temperature heating.
Steam straightener: It will spray steam while heating. The steam can moisturize the hair, replenish the moisture lost by the hair due to high temperature, and prevent the hair from becoming dry and rough.
3.Tips for using a hair straightener:
Pretreat your hair: Before using the straightener, comb your hair to make it smooth and remove any tangles. If your hair is dry, apply some hair oil to form a protective film to reduce the damage caused by the straightener.
Choose the right temperature: Choose the temperature of the straightener according to your hair quality.Generally speaking, fine and soft hair is suitable for low temperatures of 130160℃, which can prevent the hair from being overstraightened and becoming brittle; coarse and hard hair requires high temperatures of 180-200℃ to effectively straighten the hair.
Partition operation: Divide the hair into several small parts, and gradually straighten them upwards starting from the ends. Do not clamp the hair for too long each time, generally 3 to 5 seconds is enough to avoid overheating and damage to the hair.
Sliding method: When straightening your hair, keep the straightener perpendicular to your hair and slide it from the ends to the roots at a constant speed to ensure that the straightening effect is uniform.
